North East Wales Institute Of Higher Education

The North East Wales Institute of Higher Education (Newi) is located in Wrexham, a city situated in the northern region of Wales. The institution boasts two campuses, namely Plas Coch, which houses the student union, student village, and modern sports center, and the school of arts and design, which is nearer to the town center.

Full-time undergraduate students who joined in 2008 paid tuition fees of £3,145. However, eligible students from Wales could benefit from a remission grant amounting to £1,890.

The grant scheme also extends to bursaries of up to £500 for Welsh students and a £1,400 allowance for students from the rest of the United Kingdom. Bursaries are awarded based on financial needs and means testing.

Regarding accommodation, the university provides rooms for first-year students, and the costs for these range from £50 to £72 per week.

Students at Newi have access to outstanding facilities, including a well-equipped Human Performance Lab, the Terry Hands Theater, and radio and recording studios, among others.

Transportation accessibility is also convenient. The nearest stations are a short five to fifteen minutes’ walk from the institution. And for further distances, both Manchester International Airport and Liverpool Airport are reachable within a 45-minute drive away.

For more information, you may contact the institution via telephone at 01978 290666 or email at sid@newi.ac.uk. Accommodation-related queries may be directed to accommodation@newi.ac.uk, and the institution’s website is available at www.newi.ac.uk.
